We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming conference titled AI: Who Wins and Who Loses? - hosted by Carnegie Mellon University’s Block Center for Technology and Society and MIT’s CSAIL FutureTech, with funding from the NSF Directorate of Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships (TIPs).  This interdisciplinary event will take place 6-7 March 2025 on the CMU campus. 

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape industries, business leaders, policymakers, and researchers must grapple with critical questions about its economic diffusion, workforce implications, and productivity potential. This workshop will bring together leading experts to explore:

  • Empirical methods for assessing AI adoption in business and industry
  • AI’s impact on labor markets—automation, augmentation, and new work creation
  • The reorganization of production and business processes due to AI integration
  • Strategies for policymakers, business leaders, and researchers to navigate AI’s economic challenges and opportunities

The workshop will feature engaging discussions, data-driven insights, and collaborative problem-solving aimed at advancing AI research and policy.
