AI in Finance: Examples and Discussion

In this talk, I will discuss the science and engineering of AI, based on my long academic research and development experience, and my recent research and practice experience in the finance domain. I will introduce AI Research at J.P. Morgan Chase, including its goals and its practice. I will ground the presentation in concrete projects on AI for learning in trading, for improving client experience, for employee empowerment, and for explainability. We contribute novel solutions in data and knowledge representation, planning and decision making, and machine learning towards assisting humans in their complex tasks. — Manuela Veloso is Head of J.P.
